Following slideshow contains a few photogrphs from the downtown.
Msheireb Downtown is the result of meticulous urban design by some of the world’s most renowned architects, master planners, and engineers. This landmark project in the heart of Doha, Qatar, is a sight to behold, with credits to AECOM, Allies and Morrison, and Arup. This downtown is primarily pedestrian in a country dominated by automobiles, with various locations linked by a free tram. Because of the controlled, modern architecture with natural stone and render finishes, the urban fabric is mellow and welcoming. All of this is built around the old heritage buildings, where the mosque has been restored, and the new buildings, while global in style, have local features that connect them to traditional Qatari contemporary architecture. Water features, cafes, landscape areas, restaurants, and exhibition halls, museums, and state-of-the-art residential apartments are all must-see day trip in Doha.
